Ozan Drøsdal of Perfectly Paranormal speaks with Xbox Series over the backward compatibility in next-generation consoles.
Downward compatibility is something to focus on both Sony and Microsoft with its next-generation consoles, but it looks like it s not the same priority for both. While Microsoft is essentially more of the Xbox One s upward compatibility efforts for the Xbox One, which has done it in recent years, and transfer this to the Xbox Series X, Sony seems to catch up instead.
Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X can play the vast majority of the games in the libraries of their immediate predecessors, while a selection of games for the original Xbox and the Xbox 360 on the Series X will be playable so far it seems that the old one seems Backward compatibility with the PS5 will not play a role.
Ozan Drødal recently spoke in an interview with Gamingbolt – the creative director for the coming title of the narrative adventure Helheim Hassle in the Indie-Studio Perfectly Paranormal – gave his thoughts on this inequality. And although he expressed his disappointment about the lack of downward compatibility of the PS5, he said that ultimately the new games that are published for both consoles will be most important.
It s a little disappointing to hear that we still can not use our PS2 libraries without wipeing the old PS2, Drøsdal said. It ist It is exciting to hear that we can use the original Xbox games for the X. But I assume that the console to be chosen is always limited to the current generation of games anyway. Or you can always get both if you save how crazy!
Perfect Paranormals Helheim Hassle is currently in development for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Our detailed interview with Drøsdal will go online soon, so stay it.
