For developers, the FOR WARCRAFT RUMBLE does not include miniatures from different families. It is also not mentioned that players can mix and combine miniatures, which leads to some confusion regarding how players control their armies. Fortunately, the technical director of Monte Krol and the executive producer/vice president of Vick Saraf talked with Gamerant and specified this feature.
Is the mini-selecting families in Warcraft Arclight Rumble limited?
If you want, you can add any mini-toys to your army, regardless of their family. You get a bonus if all your mini from the same family as your leader, but you are not obliged to adhere to one family. There are some leaders who will synergize with siege detachments or flying detachments, even if they are from different families.
The fact that the trailer shows characters only from the same family as the leader is just a coincidence. Players themselves decide how to develop a strategy and what units to use. If you want the leader of the Horde to lead the army of all members of the Alliance, undead or a mixture of other factions, you can do this.
